What is RSS?

RSS or RDF Site Summary is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) applications according to the specifications level of W3Schools . It is a news syndication format that are being used by agents to gather online news or data from web sites with RSS support.

 

What is RSS Reader?

RSS Reader is a program that enables you to receive online news and information from RSS-supported websites right to your desktop. For further information about RSS Reader, visit http://www.rssreader.com/.

 

RSS in Sabah State Library website?

With RSS, visitors can receive information from the library more effectively and fast. The application will continue to supply information and news from the library website to your desktop without having to browse the website itself. 

 

Steps to install RSS Reader

Step 1:

  • Download and install Microsoft.NET framework (What is Microsoft.NET framework?) first if you are not using Windows 2003 or the latest version of Windows XP.
  • The easiest way is to do a  Windows updateor visit Microsoft How to Get the .NET Framework 1.1 .

Step 2:

  • Download Rss Reader 1.0.88.0 on the link below:
  •  rssreader.zip or rss reader.exe
